District New Generations Committee

The New Generations committee works closely with the clubs on the three primary youth programs of Rotary International, helping the clubs with the administrative responsibilities of club participation, compliance and the implementation of Rotary’s Best Practices when working with youth.  The New Generations Subcommittees are;

Tittle@RotaryDistrict6980.org -- (The @ sign is not being used to prevent the email addresses from being  scraped by Internet programs and using them for junk mail).   Rotaract/Interact Chair: Sally Kamrada (Dr. Phillips) Email:  Rotaract-Interact [at] RotaryDistrict6980.org The Interact/Rotaract Subcommittee works with the club committees, assisting them as needed with their efforts to start up an Interact or Rotaract club or to improve it’s efforts with an existing club RYLA Chair:  Barbara Coggins (Orange County East) Email:  RYLA [at] RotaryDistrict6980.org The RYLA subcommittee conducts the district’s annual RYLA weekend in February.  It is hoped that every club in the district sponsors two RYLA candidates from their local high schools.  Youth Exchange Chair:  John Siegel (Altamonte Springs)           Email:  Youth-Exchange [at] RotaryDistrict6980.org District 6980 belongs to RYE FLORIDA, which all the clubs in Florida belong to.  The District Youth Exchange subcommittee encourages the clubs to sponsor outbound students and to host inbound students each year for an academic exchange.  The committee also conducts short-term exchanges each summer.
